The short version

ByeByeJob does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Your salary figures, your dates, your calculations and any paperwork you attach stay on your phone.

What the app stores, and where

Everything ByeByeJob remembers is written to your device's own app storage and never leaves it:

We cannot see any of it. It is not uploaded anywhere, it is not shared with anyone, and it is not backed up to us. Deleting the app removes all of it.

On Android, ByeByeJob excludes this data from cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so it does not travel to a new phone.

Documents you attach

You can attach files — a redundancy letter, a settlement agreement, an offer — so that everything to do with your situation is in one place.

When you attach a file, ByeByeJob copies it into a private folder that belongs only to this app on this device, and immediately deletes the temporary copy the system file picker made. The file is not sent anywhere, it is not analysed on a server, and no one but you can open it. Deleting a document in the app deletes the file itself, not just the entry in the list.

The plain-English clause explainer works the same way: the text you paste is matched against a list of clause types that is built into the app, on your device. Nothing you paste is transmitted.

Key dates

The key dates screen is a list you keep. ByeByeJob does not schedule notifications or alerts, and it does not ask for permission to send you any.

Third-party services

The app does not use:

There is no advertising identifier, and no software development kit in the app reports anything about you to us or to anyone else.

In-app purchases

ByeByeJob offers one optional one-time purchase, ByeByeJob Pro, which unlocks PDF export, letter templates, offer comparison and the clause explainer. The redundancy and severance calculator is free and always will be.

The purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see or handle your payment details, and we receive no personal information from either store.

This is the one part of the App that uses the network. So that the Pro screens can show the correct price in your local currency and can tell whether you have already bought the unlock, the App asks the store for that information when you first open a screen that offers Pro, and again when you buy or restore a purchase. The request identifies the product, not you. Nothing you have entered into the App — no salary, dates, documents or calculations — is included in it or is available to us.

Apple and Google handle your purchase under their own privacy policies. On Android, Google Play's billing library may send Google diagnostic information about the purchase process; that data goes to Google as the store operator, not to us, and we have no access to it.

Your record of the purchase is kept on your device so that Pro keeps working offline. If you reinstall the App or move to a new device, "Restore Purchase" on the Pro screen asks the store to confirm your purchase again.

External links

Wherever the App shows a statutory figure, it links to the official page that figure came from — GOV.UK, ACAS, the US Department of Labor or the IRS. Tapping one of those links opens it in your own browser, and from that point you are on that organisation's website under its privacy policy. ByeByeJob does not fetch those pages itself and does not tell anyone which of them you opened.

Froggy Eye Ltd is not affiliated with any government agency, regulator or employer. Those links are provided so that you can check our arithmetic against the source.

Sharing and exporting

If you export a calculation as a PDF, or share a document out of the App, you choose where it goes using your device's own sharing feature. That copy is then handled by whichever app you send it to. Nothing is shared automatically.

Data deletion

All data is stored locally on your device:

Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no request to make.

Children's privacy

The App is not intended for use by children. It is aimed at adults dealing with redundancy, a layoff or a settlement agreement, and its target audience is 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the new version within the App and update the "Last updated" date above.
